lucky horns

Home/Store/lucky horns

The symbolism of the horn has often been associated by historians with sexual potency: the Neapolitan horn represents the phallus of Priapus (God of Prosperity), believed by the Greeks to be a protector from bad luck. These beliefs also reached the Romans in subsequent centuries, and the findings of similar objects in the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum are clear evidence of this.

The rule...
There are some "rules" to follow, according to Neapolitans, to ensure that the object in question "works" as a good luck charm or protection against bad luck. First, the Neapolitan horn must be handmade and must be red. Handmade so that the craftsman who makes it releases his "positive energies" into the created object. Red because red is the color of blood, and therefore of life itself! But the main "rule" is that you cannot gift yourself a Neapolitan horn! Absolutely forbidden!

For the item to work, it must be received as a gift!
