Butcher - Neapolitan Nativity Scene Profession Figure
A unique scenographic work inspired by 18th-century
tradition, depicting
a popular butcher's shop scene.
The composition is conceived as a narrative micro-environment,
in which the figure, counter, meat, and utensils interact
to create a credible, lively, and coherent scene.
The butcher is presented as an integral part
of his workspace, according to a scenographic vision
that prioritizes the narrative over the figure alone.
The face, cast from a mold, has been entirely reinterpreted
through original hand-painted work, with glazes,
patinations, and color modulations designed to convey
expressive depth, character, and a sense of experience.
Entirely handcrafted, the clothing is
back-painted crystal eyes
Figure height: 35 cm
Wooden bench, block, beeswax figurines, and craft details,
crafted and assembled with the intent of creating a unified
and inseparable composition. Each individual element contributes
to the narrative power of the work.
