Fishmonger - Neapolitan Nativity Scene Occupation Figure

A unique scenographic work inspired by 18th-century

tradition, depicting a typical popular fishmonger's shop,

reinterpreted according to a contemporary artistic vision

that focuses on the story of everyday life.

The entire composition is conceived as a narrative microcosm

in which the figure, counter, and small objects interact, creating

a harmonious, believable, and atmospheric scene.

The fishmonger is placed in his work environment,

surrounded by fish, shellfish, octopus, nets, baskets, lemons, tools

and numerous other details, individually crafted from beeswax

and carefully assembled, so that each element contributes

to the expressive power of the work. The hand-sculpted

artistic workmanship that lends expressive depth,

character, and authenticity. The flesh tones are painted with successive glazes

and patinas that convey a natural

feel and a sense of experience. The clothing is entirely handmade

with natural fabrics, while the back-painted glass eyes add intensity to the

look and greater realism to the figure.

The wooden bench, fishing nets, and all the accessories were

designed and assembled to form a single, non-detachable, scenic composition, in which every detail is designed to enhance

the profession represented.
